Erin Parker moved with her family to San Pancho for a life less ordinary. Having lived all over the United states, punctuating moves with international travel, she’s found this pueblo by the sea is where her little family thrives.
Erin began exploring the wide world at an early age. When she was 10, she and her mom were in Trinidad and Tobago during the country’s revolution. Maybe that’s where her interest in storytelling started, an interest she learned to express as a photographer. Our lives are a collection of moments and Erin became a photographer because capturing and sharing those moments is her joy.
She earned a master’s degree in Visual Communication from Ohio University, culminating in a trip to southeast Asia to work for ClearPath International. Erin created the materials the non-profit used to raise more than $2 million for the removal of landmines and rehabilitation for families affected by them in war-ravaged countries.
It calmed down after that. Daily photojournalism at newspapers moved Erin around the United States. She’s called Virginia, Delaware, Maine, Hawaii, Washington, Alaska and Montana home, but New Mexico is where she discovered her heart and married her soul mate.
After the birth of their daughter, Erin and her husband Phil knew that a sedentary middle-class life was not for them, and Mexico was an entree into the unexpected. They sold everything and moved to San Pancho to join Erin’s parents, brother, and sister-in-law in a plethora of endeavours. They found success. Phil writes novels and screenplays and Erin established her own documentary destination-wedding photography business. Their daughter Syd is bilingual, and is learning how to rule the world at the local multicultural montessori school.
Erin met a different kind of soul mate in Kassidy Love, a fellow crafter, photographer, young mother, wife to a fan of a bad football team… they even wore the exact same boots at their weddings. Working with Kassidy, Ben, and Bo at Wanderlust is a natural fit for Erin as she begins her next chapter. As a photographer, she profiled fascinating people and won awards for her work, building a career using her camera to tell stories of her community and capture the happiest days of people’s lives. Connecting with clients, earning their trust and exceeding expectations, make her perfect for Wanderlust – a boutique company that helps people start their own next chapter.
