Ben started Wanderlust after becoming a veteran of the Latin American property development scene. With degrees in Anthropology and History, he has been attracted to the incredible cultural diversity and history of Mexico and Central America from a young age. A hunger to explore brought Ben to Nicaragua where he spent five years building custom vacation homes. Because these projects were mostly on raw land with limited resources, he was forced to learn all facets of the development process: he was expected to be the designer, architect, engineer, and builder. Most of the furniture, cabinetry, and windows were built by hand, as was general infrastructure such as roads, wells, and electrical and septic systems. These five years in Nicaragua have made Ben incredibly resourceful, and developed in him an “anything is possible” attitude.

While in Nicaragua, he joined his wife Kassidy’s nonprofit, The Sweet Water Fund, a grassroots foundation dedicated to inspiring Nicaraguan villages and empowering the local women through job opportunities, healthy lifestyles, and the arts. They spearheaded many projects such as nutrition and fitness programs, a suspension bridge over the local river so kids could more easily get to school, and a school kitchen built completely out of recycled materials.

After returning to the United States from Nicaragua, Ben became a general contractor in Sonoma, California. He completed multiple prestigious projects in the Sonoma and Napa valleys, including the remodeling of old-world wineries and the building of several spectacular second homes.

Three years later, Ben and Kassidy realized that the lifestyle and pace of Latin America was calling them back, so, in 2016, they and their two little boys, two dogs, and two cats made the leap down to gorgeous San Pancho to start all over again.

Ben was fortunate to work under Fred Feibel of F.L. Feibel y Asociados in San Pancho, where he developed a deep understanding of the practices and customs of Mexican real estate. After Fred’s untimely passing at the end of 2017, Ben took on the role of broker and lead agent and ran the office with his mentor’s high level of integrity and customer service. In the following year, Ben boosted the company’s sales by 350%, increasing its referral base and closing ratio.

Now a sought-after agent in the Riviera Nayarit, Ben decided to start his own company, Wanderlust Real Estate + Development. He brings his tenacity, organization, energy, optimism and creativity to the Wanderlust team and prides himself on keeping everyone on track and their clients informed, calm, and happy.

Kassidy Love

Head of Marketing and Co- Founder

Kassidy Mefford Love is a native of Wyoming and has spent the last 22 years photographing weddings and Real Estate, predominantly in California, Mexico, and Nicaragua in addition to destination shoots all over the world. She began developing her signature eye at the age of 17 after shooting a wedding for the first time; shortly thereafter, at age 18, her first nationally aired documentary followed. An accomplished writer and driven filmmaker, Kassidy has explored the many facets that influence creative photography and photojournalism. She always strives to capture something extraordinary in everything she photographs.

Although Kassidy is an honors graduate of the prestigious Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California, she is known for her character, photographic style, and vision. As a photojournalist for several California-based newspapers and magazines, Kassidy photographed countless homes in the Napa and Sonoma valleys for Sotheby’s, Coldwell Banker, and others. Her distinctive style of shooting involves capturing true moments and representing a home in its most beautiful way. In addition to capturing a room as it appears in real life, she also manages to highlight the finer details that make a house feel like a home.

Kassidy lived in the Southern Nicaraguan surf town of Playa Gigante for six years during which she founded a nonprofit, The Sweet Water Fund, which empowers local women through job opportunities, a healthy lifestyle, and the arts. She spearheaded several projects, including a school kitchen built completely out of recycled materials, a suspension bridge over the local river so kids could more easily get to school, fundraisers for the provision of school supplies, and a female health and fitness initiative that remains in operation until this day. In addition, during this time, she also owned and operated a highly successful surf lodge and tour company, where she managed 15 employees and increased sales and satisfaction by 80%, in addition to maintaining 100% five-star ratings on Tripadvisor for excellent service and hospitality.

After Nicaragua, Kassidy spent three more years as a photographer and filmmaker in Napa Valley where her two sons were born. In 2016, she and her family ventured south once again to the sunny shores of the Riviera Nayarit, and settled in San Pancho Mexico. There, she worked for Fred Feibel of F.L. Feibel y Asociados Bienes Raices, photographing all of their listings and creating promotional videos, as well as volunteering for a local community center, EntreAmigos, and fundraising for the local Montessori school, Escuela del Mundo.

In partnership with her husband, Benny Love, Kassidy leveraged her business management, hospitality, website building, and photojournalism skills, and decided to open Wanderlust Real Estate + Development. As Kassidy has also taken the AMPI-certified real estate course, Bienes Raices I, she has a firm understanding of Mexican real estate laws and the market. Kassidy and her photography team professionally photograph and film all of our listings, taking care of Wanderlust’s website and social media content as well as Multiple Listing Services (MLS) and FlexMLS. She brings years of experience and creative flair to the Wanderlust team and enables them to maintain a high level of quality and integrity.

Bo has lived in Latin America for over 10 years, developing an in-depth understanding of community development and the real estate market. His love of travel began at an early age. After graduating with a degree in International Studies from UC Berkeley and spending a year studying in Spain, Bo’s wanderlust drew him to Argentina, where he spent a year teaching English. Soon the country of Nicaragua beckoned, where his passion for surfing combined with his interest in community development.

Bo committed eight years to the Project Wave of Optimism (Project WOO), becoming its Executive Director. Project WOO focused on community-led initiatives in coastal areas of Nicaragua that were experiencing rapid tourism development. These grassroots projects brought educational and health-related benefits to the fishing village of Playa Gigante, including a health center and a school bus program run by and servicing the local community. Bo also spent five years as the International Program Director for Surf for Life, a nonprofit that serves as the bridge between international volunteers and in-country partners developing educational infrastructure programs in Nicaragua.

When his projects were finished, Bo began working for Aurora Realty in Nicaragua, leveraging his extensive knowledge of the local Tola region and its culture and customs. During this time, Bo’s wife, Carly, who runs a yoga and surf retreat company, held a retreat in San Pancho, Mexico. This is where Bo and Carly fell in love with Mexico and decided to make it their next home, adding another chapter to their Latin America story.

Today, Bo utilizes his communication and networking skills, together with his in-depth understanding of the local real estate market, to help his clients negotiate the best terms possible for their international real estate investments.
